The Belgium Center for Mental Health is a not-for-profit, multi-service agency. It is our mission to assist people with mental health and chemical dependency problems to improve the quality of their lives in the community by providing effective treatment, housing and rehabilitation services.

Community Involvement

As a community-based agency, Melillo is committed to establishing positive and productive relations with a variety of other agencies and businesses to enhance the services provided to our clients. The Melillo Board of Directors is comprised of local professionals, business people, family members and recipients of service.

Leadership

The Belgium Center takes pride in responding to the needs of the community through the development of special projects and services designed to meet these needs. The Center has provided leadership and expertise in offering disaster and trauma counseling services as a member of the Nassau County Crisis Response Team. Melillo staff provides crisis intervention and emergency services through a 24-hour emergency response phone line. Our staff has developed expertise in providing rape, sexual assault and incest victim's treatment services. Clients of these services are offered individual and/or group counseling as needed. Psychiatric consultation is available.
