Founded in 1977, the Melillo Center has grown into one of Nassau’s leading mental health and human services organizations. The installed Officers represent a wide range of experience and community service which they will bring to the Melillo Center to help further its mission to provide outpatient mental health and chemical dependence services and a variety of residential services for individuals and families with psychiatric disabilities.

Many of the aforementioned names will be highly recognizable to members of Glen Cove and the surrounding Communities. In the words of Mayor Suozzi "Good people make this community run, not just elected officials."

The Melillo Center for Mental Health is a tax exempt charitable organization that offers outpatient mental health and chemical dependence services and a variety of residential services for individuals and families with psychiatric disabilities. The Melillo Center is supported by Nassau County Departments of Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Addiction; NYS Offices of Mental Health and Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services; Housing and Urban Development (HUD); and United Way.
